Newtown Junction Fete de la Musique

On Saturday the 18th of September Newtown Junction hosted The Fête de la Musique festival, otherwise known as World Music Day, an annual popular free music festival that has been taking place in South Africa since 2010. It was my first time attending the festival and we had so much fun. The weather was great, it was good vibes, drinks were flowing and awesome music amongst great people.

The Fête de la Musique Joburg was brought to us by the French Institute of South Africa and the Alliance Française of Johannesburg, in partnership with Bassline Live and Newtown Junction, made possible by the continuous support of TOTAL South Africa.

Friends of Newtown Junction came in crowds to celebrate, dance, and express themselves fashionably at this family friendly occasion. The order of the day was live music performances and DJ sets from, Spoken Priestess, MsParty, MX Blouse, BLK JKS & Musa Mashiane alongside other fabulous acts.

Newtown Junction continuously celebrates the music and the arts through curated and safety controlled events such as Fete de la musique. They are also a mall that prides itself in the African diversity that’s rich in culture… not forgetting your one stop mall for entertainment, fashion, food and much more. Don’t forget to pass by occasionally for your convenience and cultural innovation.
