The Cresta Rooftop Market is calling on friends, couples and families to come and enjoy a day out filled with great vibes galore.
For those looking to spend their Halloween weekend listening to good music, enjoying some delicious food or simply participating in some rad activities, then the Cresta Rooftop Market is for you. In partnership with Popping, Cresta Shopping Centre is inviting the community living in and around the area to make a pit stop on the 30th and 31st of October.
This is the second Rooftop Market that both Cresta and Popping will be hosting which will boast of many local businesses exhibiting their work on both days. What’s even more exciting for our shoppers and visitors is that, the Jozi Kart Race Track will be launching on the day – which means additional fun for the whole family. The launch will also be coupled with amazing prizes to be won.
The Cresta Rooftop Market will also be entertaining crowds with a line-up of some of Young Rebels’ most amazing artists such as Jaryd Smith, Lungelo, Mia-Kama, Jordan Pretorius, Jodie Reid, Cuddles The Giraffe, Christian Heath, AVR, Pierre Coetzee and Geesoul. For the kids, there will be face painting, arts and crafts for them to enjoy, along with a Halloween inspired playground to get lost in. Not forgetting the adults, there will be a selfie station for all those social media snaps, along with a designated Halloween face painting station.
“With all the different COVID-19 restrictions that we’ve been in, we’ve been working tirelessly to bring the community of Cresta and its surrounding areas something exciting. The Cresta Rooftop Market isn’t just about socializing with friends and family, but the long-term investment that the community of Cresta will be making to each of the businesses that will be exhibiting,” says Virginia Bester, General Manager for Cresta Shopping Centre.
Considering the global pandemic and its domino effect on small businesses in the country, the rooftop market serves an opportunity for business owners to showcase their work to the larger community in an established retail shopping centre with an already existing target market. While the event invites surrounding communities and businesses to participate, Cresta Shopping Centre is also supporting Growing Champions – an NPO dedicated to creating Change Leaders amongst previously disadvantaged youth. This organization encourages and develops young people to go out into the world and become best versions of themselves. Two of these Change Leaders from Growing Champions will also be exhibiting their clothing line called “Anti-Gang” and “Manaba” at the market – two brands which have a strong message for people to stand up against gangsterism and women & child abuse.
Bester further adds “At the core of Cresta’s philosophy is to support the Community that supports us as a business – this is our means of paying it forward by supporting Growing Champions. We want to showcase their talent at our market and give them a chance at generating a revenue like everyone else at the market.”
